June Update β Profiles, Visited Places & a New Venue Layout
- updates
- release
This month is all about making the site feel like yours.
User profiles β Preview
You can now have a shareable profile page: your display name, a photo, a short bio, and a mini map of everywhere you've visited. It's a nice way to share your Blackpool food adventures with someone β or just see them all in one place.
Profiles are currently in preview for a limited number of users. Want in? Get in touch and we'll set you up.
See where you've been
Venues you've marked as visited now show a green tick badge on their map marker. There's also a new Visited filter in the sidebar so you can flip between "places I've been" and "places I haven't" β and share either view via link.
The venue page, properly laid out
This one was promised last month. The venue detail page has been rebuilt with a proper sidebar. The things you actually want to know β the hygiene score, any rating drop warnings, a reinspection note if one's pending, and the Editor Rating with its icon (π rare gem, β good, π ok, π« avoid) β now live in a fixed panel that stays in view as you scroll through photos and details.
Opening hours are shown as a clean day summary rather than buried in metadata. If a listing is overdue a refresh you'll see a notice so you know to double-check before visiting. There's a Copy link button for sharing, and the back-to-map link now restores exactly the filters you had set and reopens the venue pin β no losing your place.
Little things that add up
- Filters button now shows how many filters are active at a glance.
- Signing in from a venue page drops you back on that venue β not the map root.
- Coming back from a venue page restores the filters you had set.
- Map/list view and car parks toggle are now saved to your account and follow you across devices.
